Introduction
CTI supports the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition, Incorporated and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative with respect to Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative for sourcing Tungsten raw materials from socially and environmentally responsible suppliers. This document describes CTI’s conflict free metals policy for materials required for CTI
Scope
The CTI Conflict Free Metals Policy applies broadly to CTI products and CTI suppliers that directly support CTI product manufacturing. The known sources of material of concern include but may not be limited to tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold.
Policy
CTI understands the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country rich in natural resources where mining activities in certain regions/mines within the country which are controlled by non-government military groups have been identified by the EICC as potentially contributing to human rights abuses and environmental damage within the country. Although CTI cannot fully verify the source of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold used in the supply chain, we are committed to purchasing materials from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers.
CTI expects our suppliers to meet regulatory obligations in accordance with the local regulatory requirements and purchase materials from Conflict Free sources.
In support of this policy, CTI will:
Work with our supply chain partners to trace the sources of tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold as applicable to our products to minimize potential for metals from conflict free mines.
Support industry trade groups, suppliers, and customers in establishment of a verifiable supply chain that draws materials from conflict free mines.
All suppliers must file a current EICC GeSI Conflict Minerals Reporting Template every year. Those finished spreadsheets will be made available upon demand. If you are a vendor click on the above link and fill out the form accepting the terms; then go to “Complaint Tungsten Smelters” and select “Conflict Minerals Reporting Template and Dashboard”; fill out the form and send them to [email protected]. It is important to comply with these requirements as CTI will not purchase from non-compliant vendors.
CTI does not use Tantalum, Tin or Gold in its current processes.
