The company’s continuing commitment to quality has enabled our materials to win approval at some of the most advanced end users of tungsten carbide tools in the world. These include Boeing, Pratt Whitney, Northrup, General Electric, and all major automobile and automotive component manufactures. A fully staffed and equipped metallurgical laboratory is maintained on site to monitor the entire manufacturing process from powder blending to post-sinterHIP certification.
Our internal laboratory can perform Microscopy to 1750X along with density, hardness, porosity, structure, Transverse Rupture Strength, grain size, Coercivity and Magnetic Saturationanalysis to ASTM standards. We also maintain a close relationship with an independent laboratory for SEM/EDAX, XRD and “wet” chemistry requirements when they arise.
Tungsten carbide powder, cobalt, and various additive materials are purchased exclusively from globally accredited suppliers that have been certified by Carbide Technologies to meet our process requirements. Powders are blended in 300kg lots which are then tested and certified before they can be used in production. Finished products are tested after sinterHIP to confirm final metallurgical properties before shipping.
Certificates of material certification are available on a per order or account basis upon request. All process metrics and product properties are monitored and stored in our active database for a minimum of three years, then transferred to optical media and placed into long-term storage.
CTI meets your needs for total quality assurance in today’s demanding market, and for the future needs of your growing business.
